If you are new to making bread or already make bread but would like to have a really good understanding of the foundations of bread making, this course is for you. At this hands-on workshop we will cover all of the key stages of bread making, look at different methods of kneading and different types of yeast and flour and what happens when you enrich dough with various ingredients.
During the morning you will make:
- soda bread
- simple olive oil bread (for pizza dough, flatbreads, bread sticks, fougasse and simple loaves)
- an enriched dough – we will look at milk doughs and hot cross buns for Easter
- focaccia (because it is easy and delicious!)
- a malted or walnut and honey loaf (perfect to go with soups and lunches)
You will take home a bag of freshly baked bread, a really good understanding of the fundamentals of bread making and a handout full of tips and recipes.
Our in-person courses are currently limited to 4 people, with everyone working individually at their own station, with lots of space around them. We find these small classes work perfectly as you get lots of individual attention and time with your tutor.
